After completing a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, he went on to work with athletes at a variety of levels, including serving as a team physician and consultant for organizations such as the Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks, and USA Rugby.

Dr. Barbour has contributed numerous articles and book chapters to the medical literature and has served as an editor for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is also a familiar voice in health and medical discussions, having appeared on television and radio programs and co-hosting The Doctor’s Lounge podcast, where he explores healthcare, medical innovation, and issues affecting patients today.
At the center of Dr. Barbour’s approach is the belief that no two patients or injuries are exactly alike.
