Dr. Lindley earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University Medical Center. His clinical expertise includes a broad spectrum of spinal disorders and advanced surgical techniques. These include minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical and lumbar disc replacement, spinal deformity correction, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors, spinal cord injury, and spinal trauma. Dr. Lindley is particularly known for embracing surgical innovation to offer patients the latest in spinal care.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Lindley has played a prominent role in clinical research. He has served as a principal investigator on several major clinical trials in collaboration with Memorial Health, focusing on technologies such as cervical disc replacement, lumbar facet and posterior disc replacement, and cervical spinal cord trauma. In 2010, he performed the first posterolateral lumbar disc replacement in the United States, a milestone that exemplifies his leadership in spine surgery innovation. Dr. Lindley ‘s contributions to medicine were recognized with the Georgia Medical Society Health Care Heroes Award in 2011.

Most recently, Dr. Lindley has been selected as a primary investigator for the TOPS™ System clinical study, evaluating the use of this novel posterior arthroplasty device for treating Grade I spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis. If approved, TOPS could represent a groundbreaking advancement in spinal surgery and offer new hope for patients with degenerative spine conditions.

Dr. Lindley is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, International Society of Spine Surgery, and the Southern Neurosurgical Society, among others. His contributions to the field also include published articles, presentations, and book chapters on topics ranging from degenerative spinal conditions to intracranial meningiomas, aneurysms, tumors, and traumatic brain injury.
